Bio

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Matthew showed an interest in performing early on:  charming family and friends with songs or impromptu skits.  He enjoyed being the center of attention, and was often in trouble at school for cracking jokes and entertaining other students during class.

Matthew loves outdoor activities, participating in baseball, football, lacrosse, and Boy Scouts (earning the rank of Eagle Scout.)  He found a passion for theater in middle school when he portrayed the infamous Professor Harold Hill in The Music Man. Throughout high school, he continued developing his drama skills playing leads in Damn Yankees, Bye Bye Birdie, Anything Goes, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

In 2003, Matthew entered Northwestern University to study theater. While at Northwestern, he joined the popular Freshman Fifteen a capella group. The group performed regularly to sold-out audiences, and produced three CD's between 2004 and 2006.

Matthew graduated in the spring of 2007: earning a BA degree from the School of Communications with double majors in Theater and Animate Arts, and a certificate in Musical Theater.

... he never stopped making jokes in class.
